If my business was your business then my business wouldn’t be mine but yours. Since my business is not your business then best to leave my business alone.
During the 1950’s we had a Party Line consisting of four different family neighbors. There were a lot of neighbors listening in on phone conversations and often it would go like this, “I have been trying to make an urgent call and you have been on the line for the last 50 minutes. Please get off the phone so I can make my call”. Customers were charged by the minute so most of the calls were brief but it was “MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS” madness during those times. We had a nickname called BUTTINSKY or BUTTINSKIES for those neighbors who would always be getting into other neighbors’ business. Which was probably (guesstimation) 98% of those who had a Party Line.
